Giuseppe De Mattia

Giuseppe De Mattia. Installation view - Esposizione di Frutta e Verdura. Matèria, 2019/20
Giuseppe De Mattia was born in Bari in 1980 and currently lives and works between Bari and Noha (Lecce), Italy. His artistic practice engages in a dialogue between multiple media—including photography, video, sound, drawing, and painting—to explore the relationship between memory and the contemporary moment. A keen observer of the contemporary art landscape, De Mattia frequently addresses structural questions surrounding the art economy, approaching them through an interplay of irony, satire, and a distinctly poetic form of critique.
He is represented by Matèria in Rome and collaborates with Banquet Gallery in Milan and De' Foscherari in Bologna. His publications have been released by publishers including Corraini Editore, Danilo Montanari, Aosta Publishing, and Skinnerboox.
Throughout his career, De Mattia has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Italy and internationally.
